Well big question, probably got you thinking, but the sin I am talking about is the marketing blunders that can cost your Small Business, hundred of thousands of dollars that add up to in time millions.
Each and every blunder (marketing sin) is preventable.
So let’s get and discuss these sins in the next 2 blog posts
Marketing Sin #1
Each small business failure (unfortunately there are many) is paved with a negative attitude and a closed mind!
So many small business owners and operators think that because a marketing method didn’t work in the past it means you cannot try it again in the future. They fail to see that if you pinpoint what went wrong and give it another try it can be hugely successful and win/win for everyone.
So many closed minded small business never ask the important question “What can we do differently to make this work?” (If you look at things differently, the things you look at change)
Very few seek out and hire a professional copywriter to devise a hard-hitting message that can make the difference between success and failure of a particular campaign. Often times changing the headline of an ad and including a testimonial of a satisfied customer can bring in business.
Marketing Sin #2
So great is this sin it will condemn a small business to mediocrity or failure is one giant step. The sin is not taking the time to develop what’s called a ‘unique selling proposition’.
You need to offer customers and prospects one or more distinctive reasons to align themselves with your company over your competition. Unless you do so, you can be sure they won’t feel compelled to try your products and services.
Stay tuned – next post another couple of deadly sins to avoid if you wish to make your small business into an asset to be proud of.
